| abstractText | Full text of MNL contribution: Research News: A previous report (MNL 35:21) indicated that th and ub mutants both possessed abnormal crystals in place of the otoliths, and that these contributed to an inefficient equilibrium response. Dr. Lyon discovered that ub was linked with ln and kindly suggested that the cross between th and ub be made in order to determine if, in fact, these were two separate occurrences of the same allele. The F1 progeny of reciprocal crosses failed to show complementation among 50 offspring from 8 litters. Moreover, the same abnormal crystals were found in those progeny which were prepared for whole-mount observation. (Erway) |
