| abstractText | Full text of MNL contribution: New mutants: A new sex-linked mutant has been detected in one of our 'flecked' selection experiments. Preliminary linkage data suggest that it is an allele of the Mottled locus but it differs from all other such mutants reported. It most closely resembles Brindled but the males are viable, though apparently sterile. Like Brindled males, the males are near white with dark extremities and thus mimic the autosomal mutant himalayan. A provisional name for the mutant is viable Brindled, symbol MovBr.
