Gene | Kitl | Inheritance Mode | Semidominant |
Strain of Origin | Not Specified | Is Recombinase | false |
Is Wild Type | false |
description | The cloud gray mutant was found in offspring of a neutron-irradiated male (J:13613). It was shown to be a steel allele by complementation test (J:13654). Homozygotes are very light gray with white blotches. KitlSl-cg/+ mice are barely lighter than wild-type. They are fertile, but fertility of homozygotes is very poor (J:13613). About one-third of the homozygous females have imperforate vaginas. KitlSl-cg/KitlSl mice are off-white with dark ears and black eyes (J:13654). |
molecularNote | This allele is defined by recovery of no wild-type mice from a mating of KitlSl-cg/KitlSl-type and +/+ mice. |
