| description | The c65K mutation is identical to the c112K mutation and both are presumed to have resulted from a single mutational event. The two lines of mice carrying these mutations were derived from the same mutagenized male (J:23420). The phenotype of mice carrying this allele is similar to Tyrc-3H in most respects studied, including neonatal death, effect on liver enzymes and serum proteins (J:5435), and defective rough endoplasmic reticulum of liver (J:5386). Compound heterozygotes carrying Tyrc-ch show dilution of the chinchilla pigmentation compared to homozygous chinchilla mice (Tyrc-ch/Tyrc-ch, J:5435). Compound heterozygotes with Tyrc-6H are infertile (J:5435). |
| molecularNote | Tyrc-65K and Tyrc-112K are derived from the same male in matings sampling X-irradiated spermatogonial stem cells. They are presumed to have resulted from a single mutational event. |
