| abstractText | Full text of MNL contribution: Research News. 1. New mutants. d) Two ENU-induced W-alleles. The two W-alleles W28H and W29H were found among the offspring of males treated with 250 mg/kg ENU. W28H is very similar t o the classic allele W. In heterozygotes the coat shows white spotting on the forehead, belly, feet and tail, but there is no dilution of the remaining pigment. Putative homozygotes look very pale and anaemic and die at or within a few days of birth. In W29H heterozygotes the coat colour is mildly diluted and there is fairly extensive white spotting. Homozygotes are black-eyed white, viable and fertile. (Lyon and Glenister) |
