| abstractText | Full text of MNL contribution: New mutants: Dominant reduced ear, E (or b<e>, see below) Found in offspring of X-irradiated female. Also mutant at b-locus. Ear effect may be allelic with or linked to b (no recombination, so far, but numbers.not yet large). Pinna is slightly reduced (not as much as in se/se); body size reduced; head may be blunt and rounded. No homozygotes found yet. Double heterozygotes with se are indistinguishable from dominant-reduced-ear single heterozygotes. Such double heterozygotes, when crossed to se/se, produce some wild-type young (indicating non-allelism) as well as some extremely short-eared, very small young (indicating interaction). (Kelly) |
