abstractText | Full text of MNL contribution: Research News. 1. New mutants. c) Chylous ascites (Chy). Found among the offspring of a male treated with 250 mg/kg ENU. Affected heterozygotes can be recognised after their first feed by the appearance of milky fluid in the abdomen. At weaning the hind feet are noticeably swollen and oedematous. Both sexes are fertile. Homozygotes are not yet known. The chylous ascites at birth resembles that seen in some ragged (Ra) mice, but the gene is not allelic with Ra on the grounds of linkage. There is no evidence of linkage with fz, ln, v, ep, p, Sd, a, cch, d, s, wa-1. (Lyon and Glenister) |
