| abstractText | Full text of MNL contribution: New Mutants: 1. Twister (twt) a new recessive mutation arose in our B6C3-a/a-myd/+ stock at N3 in 1978. When picked up by the tail all affected mice tuck the head as if to somersault. Some have a tilted head, some show circling behavior, none can swim but they can hear. It is located very close to p on Chromosome 7. No double homozygote has been recovered in over 700 offspring in a RI with p. To date tests of 72 chromosomes have shown no crossovers giving an upper 95% confidence limit for recombination between p and twt of 4.08%. An allele test with sh-1 was negative. (Lane) |
