| abstractText | Full text of MNL contribution: New mutant: We have fround a new neurological mutation in a C3H stock also segregating for Wf. Affected animals exhibit locomotor instability, associated with a marked rapid tremor of all parts of the body (somewhat reminiscent of the quaking phenotype). The mutation is clearly autosomal recessive and is neither linked to W nor to E (or Os). Homozygotes are fully viable and both sexes are fertile although males are much more reliable breeders. We have given the name frissonnant to this mutation the symbol of which could be fri. A rough histological analysis of the central nervous system shows a degenerative process of the white matter (J.L. Guenet). |
