abstractText | Full text of MNL contribution: M.M. Dickie. New mutations: 2. Gunmetal. Two greyish-black animals were observed, in a litter of C57BL/6J born in December, 1962. These deviants resemble beige but an allele test proved negative. At maturity they resemble dilute black; tests with dilution were also negative. Tests with other known diluting genes, p, b, ru, le, pa, si, ce, pe, m, ep, tp, and ln were also negative. Eye color does not appear to be affected. Breeding tests indicate that the deviant is recessive, has high mortality and does not breed well. This mutation has been called gunmetal, and suggested symbol is gm. |
