| abstractText | Full text of MNL contribution: New Mutant: Nijmegen waltzer, suggested symbol nv. This is a new autosomal recessive neurological mutant with complete penetrance and variable expressivity, which arose in 1964 in a non-inbred Swiss albino stock. The behavioural anomalies include running in tight circles in either direction, horizontal and vertical head shaking, and a marked tendency for aggressivity, particularly in males. Mutants are not deaf, show normal placing reactions, swim well, often in circles, and are good climbers. Fertility and viability are not reduced but body weight is. The phenotype is different from that of any other known single mutant. There is evidence that mv is linked with c and tests with p are in progress. |
