abstractText | Full text of Mouse Genome contribution: Research News: Remutations at The Jackson Laboratory. 3. A spontaneous remutation (lnd2J) on Chromosome 7 arose in C3H/HeJ. Two males heterozygous for the new mutation mated to two female heterozygotes from the C57BL/6J-lnd strain yielded 14 affected pups in a total of 4 progeny with 1 pup missing. 1nd2J/1nd2J mutants usually die by 3.5-4 weeks of age, while lnd/lnd2J mutants from the complementation test resemble the original lnd mutation being viable but getting progressively paralytic with their hind limbs being completely non-functional by 5-6 months. DNA is preserved and embryos are being cryopreserved. (S. Cook) |
