abstractText | Full text of MNL contribution: Research News: 1. New Mutants. a) Tight skin-2 (Tsk-2). Found among the offspring of a male 101/H mouse treated with 200 mg/kg ethylnitrosourea (ENU). The original mutant was recognized as abnormal by the tightness of the skin over the shoulders when it was picked up. No other abnormality was detected in the heterozygote. Tsk-2/+ mice can be classified between one and two weeks of age. Heterozygotes are fully viable and fertile but homozygotes probably die prenatally. The description resembles that of Tight skin (Tsk), Green, M.C. et al., Am. J. Path. 82: 493 (1976) but Tsk is located on chromosome 2, two units distal to pallid (pa) whereas Tsk-2 is linked to fz and ln on chromosome 1. |
