| abstractText | Full text of Mouse Genome contribution: 3. Tabby remutation. An independent remutation to tabby has spontaneously occurred at The Jackson Laboratory. Ta10J arose spontaneously in the C3H/ HeSnJ-rb (rabbit) strain in September of 1993. One female was born showing the characteristic striping pattern of tabby heterozygotes. To test for allelism with tabby this female was mated to a Ta/Y male from the B6CBA-Aw-J/A Ta/0 stock. The mating produced 2 female Ta/Ta, 4 male Ta/Y, 5 female Ta/+ and 6 male +/Y progeny in 2 litters. Ta10 has been discarded but DNA is available from The Jackson Laboratory Mouse DNA Resource.
