| abstractText | Full text of MNL contribution: New Mutations: Hare tail, provisional symbol Hi, an autosomal dominant mutation occurred in a cross between female CBA and male C57BL/6 strain mice in April 1967. The male father of the mutant mice had a normal phenotype but produced 54 +/+ and 33 Hi/+ progenies. The heterozygous Hi/+ mouse has a very short thick tail bent dorsally or laterally. The body of the mouse is shortened especially in its posterior part and sometimes the spine is distorted. The viability of the Hi/+ mice is slightly lowered. The Hi/Hi mice are easily detectable by extreme expression of the mutant traits. Usually the homozygous females do not breed. Hi segregates independently of tf. (Blandova, Kirsanin) |
