description  PHENOTYPE: Mice homozygous for one allele disrupting this imprinting control region (or differentially methylated region) between H19 and Igf2 exhibit normal methylation imprinting. An allele replacing it with the chicken beta globin chromatin insulator results in the lack of Igf2 activation and H19 suppression when paternally inherited, leading to smaller mice. Endocrine junctional zone (Jz)-specific KO leads to sex-specific changes in placental endocrine capacity. [provided by MGI curators]
