| molecularNote | This cytogenetic transposition comprises a duplication of a Y Chromosome short arm segment, originally from the RIII inbred strain, that was transferred to the distal end of the long arm adjacent to the pseudoautosomal region which normally recombines with the X Chromosome during meiosis. During meiosis the duplicated region from the Y translocates to the X Chromosome of one-half of the X-bearing gametes. Genetic females with a male phenotype result when these gametes fertilize X bearing eggs. At least five loci map to the Tp(Y)1Ct segment: Hya, Spy, Tdy(Sry), Zfy1, and Zfy2. |
