RT-PCR and RNAse protection assays demonstrated that a mutant transcript is produced from this allele that splices exon 3 to exon 5, which results in a frameshift mutation. Immunohistochemistry analysis revealed that no encoded protein was detectable in spleen sections from homozygous mice. |
