The floxed neo gene was excised in vitro by transiently transfecting ES cells with cre expression vectors. Neither transcript nor protein were detected by Northern and Western blot analyses. Expression of the modified cre transgene permits conditional mutagenesis at sites tagged with loxP in myeloid precursor cells. |
