molecularNote  2.5 kb of the promoter and exons 1-3 were replaced with a PGK-neo cassette via homologous recombination. Absence of gene expression in homozygous mutants was verified by RNase protection assay using an exon 3 probe and mouse embryonic fibroblasts derived from E13.5 homozygous mutant embryos.
