| abstractText | Full text of MNL contribution: 2. Ldh-1: Genetic and linkage analyses of the previously reported (MNL No. 57) mutation at Ldh-1 are continuing. Linkage analyses have located on chromosome 7 between Gpi-1 (RF = 15.5 +/- 4.8, N = 59) and Hbb (RF = 25.3 +/- 6.0, N = 64). Other crosses of animals heterozygous for Ldh-lb (pending approval, I have designated the common allele Ldh-la and this mutant allele Ldh-1b) have resulted in 1:1 ratio of homozygous to heterozygous offspring. Animals of the genotype Ldh-1b/Ldh-lb are fertile and show no apparent deleterious effects of this mutation. In addition, visual analysis of the zymogram patterns from the homozygous mutants reveal a considerable reduction in staining on the part of the mutant enzyme. |
