| molecularNote | A loxP site was introduced ~900 bp upstream of exon 1 and a loxP-flanked neomycin resistance cassette 120 bp downstream of exon 2. Cre recombinase deleted exons 1 and 2, encoding the first 33 amino acids of the protein, and the selection cassette, leaving behind a single loxP site. This allele was derived from the same targeting event as Col15a1tm2.1Pih. The absence of transcript and protein was verified by Northern blot and immunohistochemical analyses of homozygous mutant mice. |
