| molecularNote | A floxed Tk-Neo cassette was inserted in intron 1 and a third loxP site was inserted downstream of exon 2. Successfully targeted ES cells were transiently transfected with a cre expressing vector which excised the floxed selection cassette. Exon 2 was left flanked by single intronic loxP sites. Western blot analysis of retina and brain tissues showed protein expression to be unaffected by the presence of the loxP sites. This allele was used to generate Kif3atm1Gsn. |
