Primary Identifier | MGI:2445680 | Allele Type | Transgenic |
Attribute String | Inducible, Recombinase | Gene | Tg(Camk2a-cre/ERT2)1Casa |
Strain of Origin | FVB/N | Induced With | tamoxifen |
Is Recombinase | true | Is Wild Type | false |
molecularNote | The transgene consists of a BAC vector carrying a tamoxifen-inducible cre recombinase gene under the control of Camk2a regulatory elements, an eGFP cassette, and a bovine growth hormone polyadenylation signal. The cre recombinase gene is flanked by 2 ERT2 ligand binding domains. The Camk2a promoter targets transgene expression to the brain. High expression was observed in the hippocampus and cortex, intermediate expression was observed in the striatum, thalamus, and hypothalamus, and no detectable expression was observed in the cerebellum. This transgenic line carries 8 copies of the integrated construct. |
