Allele : Tg(Camk2a-cre/ERT2)1Casa transgene insertion 1, Emilio Casanova

Primary Identifier  MGI:2445680 Allele Type  Transgenic
Attribute String  Inducible, Recombinase Gene  Tg(Camk2a-cre/ERT2)1Casa
Strain of Origin  FVB/N Induced With  tamoxifen
Is Recombinase  true Is Wild Type  false
molecularNote  The transgene consists of a BAC vector carrying a tamoxifen-inducible cre recombinase gene under the control of Camk2a regulatory elements, an eGFP cassette, and a bovine growth hormone polyadenylation signal. The cre recombinase gene is flanked by 2 ERT2 ligand binding domains. The Camk2a promoter targets transgene expression to the brain. High expression was observed in the hippocampus and cortex, intermediate expression was observed in the striatum, thalamus, and hypothalamus, and no detectable expression was observed in the cerebellum. This transgenic line carries 8 copies of the integrated construct.
