PHENOTYPE: Male homozygotes are sterile due to complete absence or greatly reduced numbers of mature sperm. Spermatogenesis progresses through meiosis, resulting in the production of round spermatids. The acrosome and sperm head appear developed; however, little evidence of flagella is observed.
