This transgene consists of 1.3 kb of rat Cd36 coding sequence under the control of the regulatory sequences of the mouse creatine kinase gene. Cd36 is specifically expressed in muscle. Muscle tissues show 3-4 fold and 2-4 fold enhanced expression of mRNA and protein, respectively.
