Allele : Atp2a2<tm1Fwuy> ATPase, Ca++ transporting, cardiac muscle, slow twitch 2; targeted mutation 1, Frank Wuytack

Primary Identifier  MGI:3653502 Allele Type  Targeted
Attribute String  Null/knockout Gene  Atp2a2
Transmission  Germline Strain of Origin  (129X1/SvJ x 129S1/Sv)F1-Kitl<+>
Is Recombinase  false Is Wild Type  false
molecularNote  A targeting vector was used to insert an inactivated muscle-specific 5' donor splice site and a strong polyA site. A neomycin resistance cassette replaced untranslated exons 23 and 24, and the muscle-specific exon 25. The resulting allele lacked expression of the protein in the heart and prevented its replacement by the b isoform. RNase protection assay and Western blot failed to detect transcript and protein, respectively, in mutants.
