| abstractText | The myotonia 8 Jackson mutation arose spontaneously and was identified in a (C57BL/6J x C3HeB/FeJ) x C3HeB/FeJ N2 mouse at The Jackson Laboratory. Phenotype was evident by two weeks of age. Homozygotes for this recessive mutation were smaller than normal, displayed prolonged extension postures of the limbs and a stiff gait and developed hind limb muscle spasms. This mutation was proven allelic with Clcn1<adr-mto2J> by failed complementation. |
