molecularNote  The rat insulin promoter was placed upstream of the adenovirus early region 3 (E3) with a 202-bp deletion of the gp19K gene and the sequences for the 10.4K, 14.5K, 14.7K (and 11.6K) genes retained. This construct was injected into NOD/ShiLtDvs oocytes. RT-PCR analysis of mRNA from pancreatic beta cells of mice bearing this transgene demonstrates expression of the 10.4K, 14.5K, 14.7K and 11.6K genes, but detects no gp19 transcripts.
