Allele : Tg(DBH-PTPN11)14Bmas transgene insertion 14, Brian A Masters

Primary Identifier  MGI:3835390 Allele Type  Transgenic
Attribute String  Inserted expressed sequence Gene  Tg(DBH-PTPN11)14Bmas
Strain of Origin  Not Specified Is Recombinase  false
Is Wild Type  false
description  This is one of three lines that expressed wild-type PTPN11: lines 2, 9 and 14. The phenotype is reported to be consistent among them. (J:80747)
molecularNote  This transgene contains a 1.9 kb cDNA encoding chicken wild-type protein tyrosine phosphatase, non-receptor type 11 (also known as SHP-2) expressed under control of a 5.8 kb human dopamine beta-hydroxylase (dopamine beta-monooxygenase) promoter. The promoter is followed by the first intron of the rat insulin II gene. The cDNA is joined at its 3' end to a 799 bp fragment of the human growth hormone gene that contains 66 bp of coding sequence and the 633 bp 3' untranslated region (UTR), including the polyadenylation signal. Immunoblot analysis reveals that superior cervical ganglia of transgenic mice contain 2-2.5 fold the level of DBH as do those of non-transgenic animals.
