| molecularNote | Transgenic mice were generated from a BAC in which exon 1 of the Foxn4 locus had been replaced with the coding sequence of codon-improved cre (icre) by homologou recombination. An frt-flanked selection cassette (kanamycin-resistance gene driven by the prokaryotic EM7 promoter) followed the icre sequence and was excised by Flp-recombination in bacteria during recombineering. Three founder lines were generated by pronuclear injection of the final 150 kb construct, with the line providing the most robust combination was selected for further study. No line numbers were specified in the reference. |
