molecularNote  A neo cassette was inserted upstream of exon 4. An FRT-flanked neo cassette with a 3' loxP site was inserted downstream of exon 5. Cre-mediated recombination removed exons 4 and 5 as well as the neo cassette. Western blot analysis confirmed the absence of protein expression in primary mouse embryonic fibroblasts and the brain.
