molecularNote  A loxP site flanked neomycin resistance gene cassette was inserted upstream of exon 2. Exon 2 was replaced with a modified version in which a nucleotide substitution (A to T) results in the amino acid substitution of tyrosine with phenylalanine at position 890 (Y890F). Subsequent cre-mediated recombination removed the neo cassette.
