A floxed neo cassette was inserted upstream of the coding sequence. An additional loxP site was inserted downstream of the coding sequence. Cre-mediated recombination removed the neo cassette and coding sequence. Western blot analysis confirmed the absence of protein expression in the bladder mucosa.
