| molecularNote | An FRT flanked neo cassette was inserted downstream of exon 2. Both the selection cassette and exon 2 were also flanked by loxP sites. Flp recombinase was used to excise the selection cassette from properly targeted mice. Exon 2 was then removed by cre expression leading to a truncated mRNA as detected by RT-PCR. No protein was detected by Western blot analysis. |
