abstractText | The recessive Lepr<m1Clo> mutation arose spontaneously in a subline of STOCK Gli1<tm2Ajl>/J that had been maintained in the laboratory of Dr. Cecilia Lo. Homozygotes are fat compared with littermates by 4 weeks of age and become obese with steatosis and islet hyperplasia. Homozygous females have not successfully bred and homozygous males also have reduced fertility, although some have bred. The Gli1<tm2Ajl> allele was bred out of this mutant subline and failed complementation was found in an allele test with B6.BKS(D)-Lepr<db>/J. This new allele of Lepr has been designated Lepr<m1Clo>. |
