| molecularNote | The CRISPR/Cas9 system was used to generate a 25-bp deletion in exon 1. Exon 1 is present in the longer Hnrnpa3a protein isoform but absent in the shorter Hnrnpa3b isoform. Immunoblot analysis revealed a marked reduction in the level of Hnrnpa3a, but not Hnrnpa3b, in the brain of homozygous mutant mice at E14.5. Immunostaining revealed that protein levels were barely detectable in the ventricular zone (VZ) and subventricular zone (SVZ) regions at E13.5. |
