| molecularNote | A single loxP site was inserted 5' to exon 4 and a neomycin selection cassette followed by a second loxP site was inserted 3' to exon 5. Cre-mediated recombination resulted in the deletion of exons 4 and 5 and the selection cassette. RT-PCR analysis showed no detectable transcript in kidney, liver and spleen of homozygous mice. Immunoblotting experiments showed no detectable encoded protein in kidney, liver, spleen and prostate. |
