| molecularNote | In the transgene construct the mutagenized mouse cerebellin 4 precursor protein cDNA was inserted into a unique BamHI site in exon 4 of the mouse Purkinje cell protein 2 (L7) gene that had its ATG start site inactivated, thus placing the inserted gene effectively under control of the promoter of the host gene without expressing the host peptide.
