| molecularNote | The first two exons common to all three major isoforms (A,B,C) were flanked by loxP sites and a neomycin selection cassette with a loxP at the N-terminus was inserted upstream of the floxed exons. Cre-mediated recombination excised the neomycin cassette generating a conditional allele. Removal of the two floxed exons eliminates the expression of the growth inhibitory Nogo-66 amino acid loop shared by all three isoforms and is predicted to result in a null for the C isoform and severe hypomorph for the A and B isoforms. |
