| molecularNote | LoxP sites and an frt-flanked neomycin selection cassette were inserted to flank exon 3. The frt-flanked neomycin selection cassette and exon 3 were removed via FLP-and Cre-mediated recombination in the germline. Western blot analysis revealed absence of expression of the long isoform in the brain (olfactory bulb, cerebral cortex, hippocampus, brain stem, cerebellum, and pituitary) and testis of homozygous mutant mice. In contrast, expression the canonical short isoform was upregulated in the olfactory bulb, cerebral cortex, hippocampus, brain stem, and cerebellum of homozygous mutant mice. |
