molecularNote  Coding exon 7 (genomic exon 8) was flanked by loxP sites. An FRT-flanked neomycin phosphotransferase cassette was inserted in between exon 7 and the second loxP site and removed via flp-mediated recombination. Cre-mediated recombination deleted exon 7 in the germline.
