| molecularNote | A loxP site, a minigene consisting of the cDNA sequence for exons 13-17, a STOP cassette, a neomycin resistance gene cassette and a second loxP site were inserted into intron 12 and endogenous exon 13 was modified to change aspartic acid codon 468 (GAC) to alanine (p.D468A). This allele expresses the wildtype transcript and only after Cre-mediated deletion of the minigene-STOP-neo cassette will it express the mutated transcript.
