CD45-minigene transgenic strain deltaC (DeltaC or "dC") is supplied on the C57BL/6 background and thus expresses both the transgene-encoded CD45 and the endogenous C57BL/6 CD45. When the deltaC transgene is transferred to the CD45 knockout C57BL/6 background (JAX Strain #002725), the mice express only a truncated CD45 protein with a deleted cytosolic domain and therefore no functions conveyed by the CD45 cytosolic domain, including protein tyrosine phosphatase activity. |
