| abstractText | Angiostrongylus costaricensis matures in mice, but shows variation in mouse mortality and worm burden among inbred strains. Differences in response to infection may be controlled genetically. The patterns of infection with A. costaricensis in SM/J and A/J mouse strains differed markedly in terms of level of haematocrit and the magnitude of splenomegaly. |
