| abstractText | In the present study a small region of ZFX and ZFY loci in buffalo have been amplified by polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) was also uncovered that can distinguish between male and female buffalo DNA. The study also found a second copy of the ZFX loci (ZFXR) present in both male and female. Sequence analysis showed that ZFXR has a single base deletion that results in a redundant putative protein. |
