abstractText  In this study, quantitative trait locus (QTL) analysis was used to identify candidate chromosomes and for detecting the regions that include the gene or genes causing gutter-shaped root (GSR) in AKXL recombinant inbred mouse strains. One potential QTL was detected on chromosome 5 within a region of 13.0 cM, where the likelihood ratio statistic (LRS) score was higher than a suggestive level. This indicates that one of the candidate genes causing mouse GSR may be located in this region.
