| abstractText | Full text of Mouse Genome contribution: Research News: 2. Linkage of ocular retardation (or). Ocular retardation has been mapped using inversion In(12)25Rk which "inhibits" recombination through loss of recombinant products over a major portion of chromosome 12. Males: In25+/+ or; Females: + or/+ or; Parental phenotypic classes: In25 +/23 - + or/24; Recombinant classes: /none. The presence of the inversion in the backcross was ascertained as a dominant by the high frequency of first meiotic anaphase bridges observed in sectioned testes. Ocular retardation, apparently full penetrant, is recognized in homozygotes by bilateral closed eyelids at weaning. Crosses in progress with other markers on Chr 12 are confirming this assignment.
