| abstractText | Full text of MNL contribution: The murine chromosome 15 is engaged in specific chromosomal aberrations within various kinds of tumors. It was therefore interesting to note that several oncogenes and retroviral integration sites have been mapped to this chromosome (Myc, Sis, Int-1, Hba-3ps, Mlvi-1 and Mlvi-2). On the level of DNA it is not possible to prove linkage between some of these genes. Therefore in situ hybridization was tried as a first attempt to prepare a physical gene map of this chromosome. The above mentioned gene probes have been successfully mapped. They are concentrated on the distal third of the chromosome with Hba-3ps and Mlvi-1 in band 15D2, Myc in 15D2/3, Sis in 15E and Int-1 in 15F/1-3, Mlvi-2 is localized near the NO site at 15A2. These assignments are very informative in a comparative mapping study together with the human gene map. At least at a provisional stage the following genes are regionally mapped by this study too; Ela-1 and Gdc-1 in 15F1-3 as is Hox-3; As-2 and Dia-1 in 15E. These genes are included in linkage groups of conserved synteny together with Int-1 and Sis, respectively.ý&· |
